AS3 - Task Six - Re-draft final evaluation

I was able to make an advert for my headphones because I thought it would good in the market advertisement. My target audience which I believed was an international audience was those between the ages of 15-27 because those with this ages are able to enjoy this headphones as they are not too old or young, also those who are over the ages of 20 would love this headphones due to its quality therefore it wouldn’t brake easily when they use this product.

As soon I was able to finish making and editing our advert, it is important to get an audience comment because it allows us to know what the audience thinks about our advert and we could know the pros and cons of our advert for example 'did they enjoy the advert' this will allow me to know if my advert is appealing and engaging or not and also it will allow me to go an make few changes that will make my advert enjoyable and interesting to watch. The focus group was able to help me gain a lot of feedback from the audience to help know from other people views and I was able to gain different questions from the audience which allowed me to think in dept about my products. Then, I was able to create a survey monkey which was very useful as it allowed me to gain important things from others which makes me know what others things about my product, so I could use my product to match their needs and requirement. The survey monkey had a lot of closed questions which had mainly a yes or no answer from the audience, therefore we could know what they audience specially thing about our product. We were able to gather up a quantitative data which we collected from the focus group, which was very useful as it allowed us to know the reason why those in the focus group answered the way they did, which allow me to gain as much information as possible.

The audience feedback allowed me to see what people loved from the advert we showed them and the reason why the headphones was the best for them. The focus group was aimed more for the older generation as it was set for the intended target audience, in another word the older generation. After showing them few advert, a majority of them said: ‘that they enjoyed watching the advert and will certainly buy this product’, and also most of the younger people on my focus group said that they ‘loved’ the advert. on the other hand, a small majority of people said that the advert did not interested them as it wasn’t their type of advert and product. And they said that they didn’t enjoy the music because it was too loud and energetic, which goes in contrast to what the younger people thought. Similarly, I was able to get a fair feedback for my advert. One of the pros of my advert was that it was very engaging and people said ‘they will purchase my product’’, this was a pro because I know that people are willing to pay for my product due to me presenting a good advert. Additionally, people said that ‘’they enjoyed my advert’’ which is a pro as it means that my advert is interesting and it is eye catching, which makes my advert good.
I believe that the advert was very effective as it was able to engage the audience because it contained entertaining things that made the audience feel interested in watching the advert. On the other hand some may same that my believe is only one sided because I will agree with everything that’s about this product because I want it to sell and be successful. I could improve my advert by taking time to edit my advert and putting each shot correctly and effectively so the audience could understand my advert more properly. Overall, I agree with the result I was able to receive from my questionnaire and my focus group as it help me understand the pros and cons of my advert.

I believe that the advert was technically good because most shot was used effectively and was able to use different camera angles such as long and close up shot which allow my advert to look more effective and engaging and makes it look presentable and the use of tripod made my shot look enjoyable. The shot allowed the audience to understand the moral of the advert and we were able to make it easy to make the audience know what our advert was about as we showed a shot of a student revising in a classroom and different actor putting on a headphone and the music in the background changes from low to loud to signify the logo of the product, which was ‘add a little colour to your life!’ , this will allow the audience to re-think about their life and change things that need to be changed in their life. I believe my feedback was useful to an good extent because the feedback that was made from my focus group would help me improve my advert, as it will help make my advert better. Additionally, their opinion maters to me and is important when trying to improve things in my advert because their opinion would determine whether my advert is best fit in the advert industry or not and would help me know if I am meeting my target audience.

The things that could be changes is the way the shot were arranged together. If I was able to change it, I will change the story line of the advert and make it more specific for the audience to understand, as most of my focus group at one point wasn’t able to understand the plot of my advert as it was a bit confusing and difficult for them to understand. Also, I will try to add more shot to ensure that my advert could be more effective for the audience. Additionally, I will try to reduce the length of the advert, as it a bit long, which will make the audience get bored after watching it for so long, therefore, If I could shorten the length of the advert it will make the audience feel interested in watching my advert.

When I watched my advert, I was able to analyse the result from the audience through their feedback and I was pleased with the feedbacks I got. I believed that I was able to achieve my advert purpose because I was able to please my target audience as my advert was realistic and entertaining due to it being set in a school which made it look real and also it will make the young people feel conformed to the advert as they will feel the need to purchase the advert. Although there are some things that could be improved in my advert like the length of it, I need to cut the length of the advert but on a whole it was good and was able to appeal to the correct target audience.

AS3 - Task Five - Evaluation of the finished product

I was able to make an advert for my headphones because I thought it would good in the market advertisement. AS3 Task 4

Questions
1) Did you enjoy the advert?
2) Would you you buy the product after watching this advert?
3) Would you remember the advert?
4) What would you rate it out of 10?
(10 being the highest and 1 being the lowest)

The pros and cons for my advert

I held a focus group and I was able to get a fair feedback for my advert. On the other hand, the cons of my advert was that not ‘’many people would purchase this advert’’ due to the advert being presented just for the male gender as it showed more males wearing the advert rather than females. Another cons was that most of the people in my focus group rated my advert only ‘6-7’ which was average but could have been better because they are basically suggesting that my advert is good to an extent meaning I could change few things, that will push my advert ratings up more.

However, people said that they would buy my product for ‘’ personal reason’’ this is a con as it means that my advert is not attracting those with different age group but just the younger generation. Also, people thought that I was only showing the simple and known thing about the product, in another words, I was just focusing on the brand of the product but they felt that I could talk more about the ‘’quality’’ of the product rather than the simple and known things. Additionally, some 1 out of 5 said ‘’it wasn’t appealing to the female audience’’. This could be improved by getting female actress involved in the advert, may be get a different colour of headphones, so instead of the colour blue I could get another colour which could be pink as the colour pink is a conifer for femininity, which will mean that my advert isn’t only for the males but the females too.

On the other hand, people said they would remember the advert, which was good because it will consume in the audiences mind, which makes my advert significant and makes it stand out as it makes the audience remember what my advert is about, this may lead to them wanting to go invest on my product because they could remember what the advert was about.

Conclusion
I believe my feedback was useful to an good extent because the feedback that was made from my focus group would help me improve my advert, as it will help make my advert better. Additionally, their opinion maters to me and is important when trying to improve things in my advert because their opinion would determine whether my advert is best fit in the advert industry or not and would help me know if I am meeting my target audience. Their feedback was effective as it allowed me to understand what was good about my advert and needed to be corrected, for example, ‘too masculine’ with their opinion I could add more things that would make my advert more balanced and appeal to both male and females.

AS3 - Task Three - Soures of Information

Before I started planning how my advert would be laid out I made sure I set out a pre-produced and planning of the advert I am looking to create as it will help me know how my advert will be laid out. My planning will allow me to not leave out important part and it may affect the way my advert is shown which will not be engaging to my target audience. While planning I had to write out a note of the layout of my advert/ storyboard and each contain different types of ideas which will help me know how I will be able draw my target audience to conform to my advert and be engaged in what my advert is showing. Additionally, I made sure I researched into different type of advert that relate to mine, which help me gather up different ideas of how I am going to layout my advert. In conclusion, I was able to conclude with my group of the product we needed to advertise and what Headphone will be the most effective on the audience.

Storyboard
Storyboard was one of the most effective things I needed for my advert to be successful as it gave me the idea of how my advert will look and how each scene will be shot. This allowed me to know how I will layout and edit my advert with making mistakes and in my storyboard I was able to put different type of angle shot of my advert, which will allow me to know how my advert will be filmed without the need of using only one shot but using a variety of shot. Whenever, I became confused on how to film my advert, my story board was there to remind and help me know how each shot will be shown, therefore, it helped me know how to film my advert without the need to be confused and helped me be organised, therefore filming my advert was very easy. Most shot that was written on my story board was on my main advert for example long shot at a scene, when my audience sees this they will be able to see the use of long shot in my advert, which made my advert effective as it means I was able to use different camera angle shot for my advert. The story board helped me with my advert because I was able to film my advert quickly without having to re-think on what to do in a different camera shot because I already knew what to do because I had it planned out on my story board.

Proposal

This was very effective when making my advert as it meant that I knew if my idea was attractive and appealing to a certain number of people in a target group. For my proposal, I was able to put together my idea on how my advert will be and how it will have an effect on the audience. I had to make sure I was able to tell them how my ideas was created, which I believe was from the use of the market research which meant that I had to research into different types of advert that are related to what my product is. Additionally, I was able to tell them how my advert was different from other types of advert out there and why my headphones product was a great in the advertising market when making my advert. My proposal could have been better, if I was able to expand on my different ideas of how my product will be and different ways to advertise my product and how my advert will look different from different types of advert out there because this will allow the  audience who is watching my advert feel interested in watching my advert which will have an effect on them, as the advert is not similar to other advert.

The cast and crew contact details

Due to me not being a professional advertisement production, the cast and crew details were not as effective in my advert because my advert was filmed in a school setting and all the actors and actresses were from my school and the school had all the contact details, therefore this was not important. On the other hand, having the actors and actresses that are in the advert were important because if an actor can’t be able to make it for his scene, it will allow me to have an alternative plan, by filming part that not involves him and when he’s able to contact me and available to film again then we could film his part. This means that it will be easy to communicate with one another and not being able to cause confusion when filming the advertisement

Shooting schedule and shot list

This was very effective as it allowed me to have a format on how my filming shooting will be which allows us to be organise and be on tract when filming different scenes and it allowed to organise the shots of the advert will be only used once. Different shot was used when filing in different places, this meant that it was quicker and easier to film our shot and it was different from the story board because it allowed us to know where the camera shot will be which means that our advert will look organised and make the audience feel interested in watching our advert, as it not all over the place but structured properly, which made our advert shot look precise and clear.

Location visit and risk assessment- able to plan the location of where our advert will be filmed was very important as it allowed to know where our advert will be taking place and knowing where a suitable place for where to film our advert. The production visit shows a map of different places of where to film our advert and how to get to where we will be filming, which means we cannot get lost on how to get to where we are filming our product. We were able to film in the school and all knew how to get to the school without the need of using the map. However, if was in a much bigger company the location visit sheet will be very effective as means that all actors will have a description on how to get to where the filming place would be taking place. The location visit will include health and safety issues, therefore I had to make sure I carried that out because I will need to make sure that out filming location has no negative health and safety negative issue, for example, I had to make that the classroom that we were using had nothing that will be an hazard to us. Additionally, I had to carry out a risk assessment such as the headphone we will be using and the casual risk we found was that the headphone will be very loud which can damage an audience ears which is a con because it is damaging the body. On the other hand, I was able to manage the risk and make sure everyone was safe. I could improve on my risk assessment by making sure I have a risk level certificate and making sure most things like hazard is protected.

Finally

I believe that the pre-production planning was very important and effective when creating an product or advert as it allowed me to be more organise when filming and made my advert be filmed more quickly and easily. This allowed me to make my advert be filmed on time and having no delays. On the other hand, I could improve on my storyboard and make sure I was more specific on what to do, so I don’t have to over think when filming my advert.
